Neither me nor my Jeep will bow down to an "idol" light or no light. Wink

If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!

Check to see if the end of the hand throttle linkage is hanging up on something at the carb.

Sounds like sticky linkage, maybe something bent or out of place that causes the linkage to bind. Could be a weak or missing return spring.

I'd have a partner work the gas pedal while you look at the linkage and try to see if it is binding somewhere.

Another issue I'm noticing.  My '47 will not idol down at stop lights when traveling.  If I hit the gas pedal with a quick jab, it will idol down.  Anyone know what controls this function or what to do?  Thanks!
