But that clears it up, so I appreciate it, part of my mistake could have been istomf making tape and the spray can

I think to stencil with a spray can, one must shoot very, very light coats with time between.

Using a stencil adhesive would help a lot if using a rattle can to paint with.  I used a low contact shelving paper to cut out the stencil for my tail gate and it worked great using a rattle can. Using the stencil glue would be similar.

Engine plate on the jeep, just under the distributor. Can anyone help decipher it? I believe this confirms suspicion of an m38 engine.... with an industrial head

Also I close this Friday so the hefty horse will finally have a garage!

Hard to read, but looks like the engine was originally made for a welder, generator or other industrial application

Yesterday was closing day and we started moving into the new house. The jeep has taken to it already, leaking a tad but of fluid. But I'm not even mad, it is coming from the front of the transmission

Been a long few day and still got plenty coming but excited

The garage is slowly coming together. I do need to source a work bench to mount my vice on and beat things LOL

I am looking forward to what I make it

Updates soon, I want to replace the electrical fuel pump with a mechanical repro, I think the one on it pushes too much fuel through and after the engine gets nice and hot it causes a form of vapor lock... I think, and replacing it with the mechanical should aliveate that.

Tldr; after a long drive it takes a few cranks to start and starts weak but runs strong

My 47 acts like that but it because it floods after shut down. I hold the gas peddle to the floor and it usually starts after it spins 3 or 4 times.  I think the the gas is boiling over into the intake manifold.

Yea I've thought either that or it's being flooded from the over powering fuel pump, cause my carb occasionally has a drip leak too and it doesnt matter the temperature

So today I tried to replace my mechanical fuel pump to get rid of my electric one, but now I'm having a priming issue. If it helps, gas is bubbling on the outbound side of the pump. It's not pulling fuel I believe, I am going to try and get some new fuel line tomorrow. But now I'm bummed cause my jeep wont start without pouring gas down the throat

I have thought about getting a holley electric pump cause I do like the ease of them, the one on it was too powerful.
