Not a Jeep update, still adjusting to baby life so I haven't gotten to it much, but still at least driving it about once a week.
I did however pick this up the other week and finally ran a 100 rounds though it. I've been looking for a mount for the 1919 but they are not cheap at all

I think I goes without saying; John Moses Browning was an absolute genius in his realm

Very cool. I’ve had a couple of them. A semi and a real one on a form 4. Nothing as cathartic as a belt fed. Is yours semi or form 4?

Just a semi, I'm not ready to tackle the paperwork and wait times for a full auto. I've already gotten a good feel for the trigger however, and I can crack out rounds pretty quick

Forget the .30 and the M1911....I'm groovin' on that old-school "hi-fi" cabinet!

I'm a pretty big fan of it myself, I got it for free from my wife's grandfather, who hadn't used it since the early 70s. Other than the drive wheel being a little hard and noisy it runs like new!

That’s pretty awesome!
As a class 3 firearms dealer, with a gun range in my backyard, and an owner of two World War ll jeeps, I really should get one of those.

I’d easily settle for a semi auto though… ammo is too expensive.

Yea I don't see them getting cheaper, they aren't making new ones, unless you consider assembling and Israeli kit as "new". I'd definitely advise getting one if you have thought about it, prices have only gone up, but unlike some belt feds, parts are plenty available
I went through 100 round belt yesterday in about 4 minutes with the semi from the hip, with the weight of the weapon, it's not hard to run it like it is full auto.

I have some parts on order for my T-90 but I doubt I'll get around to it until after Christmas.

I have been trying to look into fabbing up a 30 cal mount for the jeep, all the ones available are too pricey for me. However I can't find the part name or number that the pintle goes into. I think it's called a socket or something along those lines, but I'm kinds coming up short.
Any leads?

Yea I've seen there stuff, nice inventory but steep prices. That socket wis half the price of the whole pedestal.

It's a shame to think there's probably more than a few on the bottom of the ocean

So I got some time to get into what I would call the first half of this project, project being replace the gaskets and seal on the crank pulley and the associated covers.
I have the oil drained and pan off, now just to remove the pulley and that cover, which I'll get to tomorrow.
Anything else I should check with it apart as it is? I will be taking the oil sump off and cleaning it and replacing the gasket.

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned it, but ever since I've had the jeep, I've had a rattle. Ive noticed this rattle before it had basically most of the body kit installed, way back when it was still pink! I've not yet been able to figure it out.
Best I can describe is it sound like a really loose washer rattling around and it's annoyingly noticeable from the drivers seat. It does seem to be somewhat related to RPM, usually doesn't rattle and idle and usually doesn't rattle at higher RPMs, sometimes, albeit not much, both.
Sometimes while driving it'll just suddenly stop and not rattle the rest of the trip.
I've been pursuing it more recently. It doesn't seem like anything in the inner components, I haven't felt any abnormal vibration. And as I've peeking into the gear box's I've tapped around to see if anything was loose and rattling just to be sure...and even if it was a loose part inside the moving parts, I feel it definitely would have gotten worse or cause some sort of failure in the miles I've pit on it since.

Before you put the sump back on the block, check the flat surface of the sump where it bolts to the block. Often times it will be distorted because it is made of aluminum? or pot metal? and it takes a sag in the middle. This can allow air to enter the pickup and lower the oil supply to the block or even lose pressure. Correcting it with a file won't hurt anything as long as the surface is flat and smooth when you are finished.
