I hate to see you throw the baby out with the wash. Have there
been lots of scams on this site? Seems like you all have a good system
for flushing scammers out without putting restrictions on newbies. Many
people come on this site for legit reasons but do not want to monitor
and hang around for any length of time before they can sell a part. I
say keep on being diligent and work together to weed out the scammers.
Share your suspicions with others and maybe other forums? You have a
topic, Transport Needed. How about a topic, "Is this a Scam"?

x2... Bob's good people. He collected up a back seat for me in WI and I met him in CT... for about half the money it would have been any other way. Pretty sure he was through CT and MA this past weekend.

There is a guy that lives in Delta, Co and owns BC Vintage Jeeps that transport Willys and Jeep part all over the country. He is actually transporting my 1946 to PA in a couple of weeks
He frequents MA because that is where his family lives. If interested send me a private chat or google his business Scott

Not to this specific incident, but in general, I'm in favor of someone who is genuinely looking to sell items that hold no interest for him/her to people who do have an interest. That's kind of how I ended up getting #11662. The seller wasn't a collector or restorer, but put it on eWillys, which he knew was a place that would get the attention of CJ collectors. I was in MA and he was in TX, so there was always a risk of a scam, but in the end, it worked out. (Now all I have to do is get the Jeep back from where it's stored in CO to MA!)

Let's be fair, Trevor maybe a female. As the old saying goes, "The deadliest of the species is usually the female".
Most of the parts I ever bought were sitting there in my hand.

He tried to get me too, since I was looking for a shock absorber washer tool. Luckily for me I had already received one.

Yep, good catch!
I smelled something fishy when "Trevor" tried to Phish me with several messages in a row about various parts I had inquired about on the forum, as if he, or she was simply trying to be helpful. I also think it might be a good idea to block new guys from the classifieds for a while until they have engaged in some conversations at least. If Johnny is trying to sell stuff he inherited let him try Craigslist where scammers are more welcome. |
