I'm camping at the Tar Hollow Campground, not sure if that's by the lake though!. I'm in site 090. I probably won't take up much room, just a pup tent and the 2A. I was hoping to leave the Grand and trailer some place else if you need a spot to pitch a tent.

Hi Jordan, I will be driving during the day on Friday. I have site 89 again and my brother Ron will be camping there. I also have a room in Chillicothe. Where I end up will depend on whether Dawn comes along or not. If Saturday is supposed to be nice she will come and we'll stay in the motel. If not I'll camp at Tar Hollow.

From the Facebook group I have my normal crew
Me CJ2A John driving my DJ3A Mike-CJ3A Seth M38A1 James CJ3B There’s 4 others flatty guys that said they planned to be there. I’ll be double checking those numbers as well. My plan is to take pictures/video like I did for 2019, I have 2 buddies coming along, Gio who joined us for 2019 and John who’s the owner of Salt Creek Off-road in West Jeffereson will be driving the resurrected DJ3A. I’ll be floating around taking pictures. The Stickers are in, I ended up with about 75 stickers since the first batch was made too small. So I’ll make sure every Jeep gets at least one of the large stickers and every one else can get the smaller ones. James and I may sneak down for a quick run on Friday, so if there’s any one camping all ready there on Friday your more than welcome to join. |

Slight change of plans. With the weather shaping up to be what it is, I'll be flying solo this weekend. I'll be camped with Ron at Tar Hollow. We made a top for his jeep last night. I'm finishing installing a new winch on mine. We're going to have a good time no matter what! Who do I contact about moving Friday's weather to Saturday?

Currently - There is a 50% chance it will be clear!
We will probably split into three groups. - Waddle's slow hard surface road group touring the local sights - Two groups heading the dirt roads. It is not very often that we have a trip when it actually rains and the Ohio clay turns to slippery mud. Those rare trips are often the legend makers. Hours to go one mile. We will call the ball on the routes based on the weather. A heavy down pour halfway through a route can change everything. (If your Better Half is coming along on this trip -make sure you have rain gear, warm clothes, extra food and water - getting stuck out until late in the evening has happened on other trips.) Safety First. Prepare for Rain. Do a good PM on you old Jeep. See everyone at the parking lot below the dam around 0930. We hope to be rolling by 10:00. |

Well said Bob! I love the 50% chance of it being clear! The Scout motto is "Be Prepared".
I am planning to travel Friday morning and would like to wheel some in the afternoon. Ruffy and James - are you still shooting for that? -Barry

We had nice weather in the end. 16 Jeeps made the trip. There was a tornado the night before that was NW of Tar Hollow and a couple of jeeps from our group had to cancel to cleanup from the tornado. Here are a few pictures. This was a great group. No one got stuck. No trail break downs. There were a few slippery climbs. I was very impressed with the vehicles and the drivers - solid all the way around. (Steve getting us rolling) Thanks everyone - It was real pleasure riding with this group! Next year's Ohio Fall Colors Ride is on October 15, 2021 ( Always the third Saturday in October - meet below the Dam at Tar Hollow. We roll at 10:00) Mark your calendars! We had three Jeeps roll on the paved roads to the local attractions. I understand that it was a great run. There were two CJ5s and 1 1941/1942 is GPW. We are hoping in the future that more of the restored road only Jeeps will show for that trip.
The unmaintained road group ended up being 13 Jeeps (mainly CJ3As and CJ2As- more than half were Cj3As). James brought his Cj3B and Ruffy brought a 4WD DJ and a Cj2a. Good trip. Robert on a hill Climb The Doctor! Edited by Stev - 19 Oct. 2021 at 7:17am |

What a great day and great to meet/see you all!!
When Barry told me about this ride I couldn't visualize it so to share with anyone thinking about going I took a few videos. BTW, taking videos and photos is difficult when you're busy wrestling the wheel so I don't have the highly technical parts recorded. I finally figured out how to get my short videos out of my android and into Rumble, links attached:

Thanks for sharing the video snippets Ron. You did better than me - I didn't get any video at all. Plus good job learning how to get the video onto rumble!
