Welcome aboard! We will need more pictures. Take some of the tongue, where the hitch is, get both sides & a little aft of that get the landing gear both sides. About midway to the box get pictures of the frame again both sides. At the front of the box look for bolt holes that held the parking brakes, also look for rivet holes for the data plate(s), more pictures. From the rear get pictures of the tailgate & its attaching points, both sides & the bottom. I am wondering if the tailgate is stock or if someone cut it in at a later date. Get some pictures of any tail lights or reflectors, or any holes from missing ones. Take pictures of both fenders as well as the box where they attached to it. While there take some of the axle ends & any hub cap that may be there. Underneath, get some of the axle & the shock mounts both on the axle & the frame. Look for these as some trailers had no shocks but did have one or both of the mounts for them. After you post these, we will be better able to answer your questions. TIA. IHTH, Cpt Logger.

Cpt logger, thank you I will
Tailgate was wood and the mounts are crappy welds, I don't believe it was original. The axle has shock mounts, frame looks to of had them at one time. I will get the pictures in the daylight. |

M100 with a DIY tailgate, in my opinion. Looks to have shock mounts on the frame, the corner handles, 4 tie downs per side, military pintle style casting with a regular coupler attached to it. Plus those two vertical metal brackets on the front. Spring hangers, springs, maybe axle has been modified.

Agree M100 --- one that's been rode hard and put away wet many times by several Bubba's.

M100 was my guess, but I am very new to these.
Thank you for the responses, I see on other m100 that there is a spring perch front and rear. Are they side specific? Where can I find a manual or diagram for these trailers? Thank you again Tim |

Hi Tim,
Here's a link to the later (1972) copy of the Army tech manual. The early original 1952 manual is free for download over on the willysmjeeps forum site.

Just spit-balling here...... free manuals might be better than $25 ?
He's going to need every nickel if he plans to do anything to that trailer.

Ron D, does it really look like it's in bad shape?
I thought it was solid. But for $80 I couldn't go wrong |
