Owls Head Transportation Museum in Thomaston Maine had their first show since covid and the feature was All American and Jeeps. Lots of other nice vehicles also.

I fixed an annoying rattle!
About 6 months ago I replaced the crank pulley, as the old one had a wallowed out key way. The crank keyway was a little wallowed too, but nothing I could do about that. Apparently the new pulley was a tad shorter than the original one. With the crank nut tight, it was not pinching the pulley tight. So the pulley developed a little rotational slop that sounded like a rattle at idle. When accelerating or cruising, it was not there. Just at idle. It turned out to be an easy fix. I found 1" ID, .050" thick machine bushings at Tractor Supply. The nut was removed, a machine bushing slipped on and the nut re-installed. Nice and tight, and quiet now

Super car meet at a local senior citizens home for Alzheimer’s sufferers. Great couple of hours where the little CJ stole the show over Nobles, Ferrari’s, Aston Martins etc.
Thanks to Jim across the road and his awesome DB7 for telling me about it!
Even got a photo with the author in it, sporting my new hat! Edited by JonJ - 18 July 2021 at 8:08am |

I replaced the rear pinion seal with my new seal puller from Joe DeYoung. Boy is that a well made tool. It’s easy enough to pull these seals while the axle is on the horses with the pinion out, but pulling one to replace it in the vehicle is another story altogether.

Yesterday ....
Participated in the "2021 Oldham County Day Parade" along with a total of 18 MV's from the "KILROY Chapter of the MVPA" based in Louisville, KY. Great parade with folks who really enjoy seeing the U.S. flag! |

I granted mine a pardon from the back corner of the garage and took her out for a night on the town (local cruise). Of course it took a new battery and a fuel pump to get her going...

I took my mom for a ride in CHUG close to 50 year since she had ridden in it. She did what she always does when we are in a car together. She chattered on about everything she had already told me. But she had fun. And I get credit for more penance.
