Got the cotter pin out. Nut should be fun. I’ve never seen a rustier part. As Darth Vader says, Resistance is futile.

I was wrong, about a great many things. Resistance is futile is from Star Trek, not Star Wars. A better quote may be “ I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”

Did you get this transfer case out of one of the jeeps that was dumped in the pacific? LOL

Probably a farm Jeep - fertilizer does this quickly

Fertilizer, that makes sense. I have to clean my lawn spreader really well after I use it, or it will rust quick. I bought it for the PTO that was attached to it, but I do need a d18, too. Hopefully I can use the case. What really amazes me about it is that it looks to be hardly used. The bearings and thrust washers are in great shape, but the gears are probably not going to be useable since they are so rusty.
