Bendix Universal Joint (Lock Pin)
Can someone explain how the Lock Pin (actually locks) the Center Ball Pin on a Bendix UJ? In removing my axles in Dana 25 my axle joints came apart. Referencing Tech Manual page 189 section M.7 , I was able to put it back together , however still comes apart easily on the bench if not careful. Does everything Lock once axle is in housing and bolt on end of axle shaft is tightened? Thanks in Advance

These joints normally come apart very easily.
Re-assemble your Bendix axle joint.
Hold short end of shaft by hand and leg the long end hang in the air vertically.
The joint should stay assembled.
If it comes apart then the joint is worn out.
