After a year of almost daily farm use since a good clean out, I decided to completely unload (Desert Dog) my 46 farm jeep.
Thought it would be interesting to see what ends up in other peoples Jeeps….. My son helped sort all the stuff out on the cement slab. Except for the leaves I ended up putting most everything back in the jeep, and the things I didn’t put in there I ended up needing later and wondering where they were! Post pics of what you have In your Jeep.

Should it stay or should it go? If it stays it will be trouble, if it goes it will be double---
Sorry Clash--- That looks like the collection that was in the back of our FC 150 for multiple decades. But we didn't have the HF emergency brake.

Always leaves, coins, lost tools, sunglasses, and etc. under the fuel tank! Not so much in the back, I keep it pretty well cleaned up except for the canvas half cab and top frame gear.

Right now: Digging bar, 1- 3/8" x 16 foot chain, a short one with a big eye on one end & hook on other, screw driver & wrench to adj. chain saw chain, 2 wood splitting wedges & a lot of wood chips from bringing fire wood up to the house from the pole-barn.
When the snow plow goes on the wood chips get replaced with a lot of steel for traction, then the 54 Chevy pickup gets the firewood - I put a 327 in it this summer, now I can get the firewood faster!!!

As mine has been inert since the mid 80s, it collects Jeep parts and dust.
In an earlier life it had a chain saw, gas can, chain oil and axe.

An old horse blanket for the Airedale to lay on. Always leaves and an ammo box for tools.

My 2A sees some farm work. I have various pieces of wood, old wooden whiskey case with tools, wire, fence staples, nails. A "Come Along" and fence stretcher bar, shovel, axe, and sledge hammer, a five gallon can of fire ant killer, and of course leaves and other debris.
Nothing yet in my CJ5, but there is still time.

If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!

This could be a fun post!
In my case -> the contents would vary widely from week to week, because Wilson is also a "work" vehicle. It is too late to check now, but I will unload tomorrow. |

For me its my kids toys and stuffed animals. Why they think my Jeep is an extension of their messy bedrooms is beyond me.

Not really much in the 2A, mostly a basic set of tools, spare ignition parts, hand crank, jack, extra safety glasses( for windshield down driving), lug wrench, and assorted repair essentials ( tie wire, cotter pins, duck tape). If it doesn’t fit in the tool box I rarely carry it.
The farm Jeep is a different story, log dogs, a couple short chains, a couple sizes of shackles, claw hammer, brush axe, and a lot of dirt/ wood/rocks are always riding along. |
