Forgot to mention, I have to leave Saturday in the early afternoon for an evening function here in town.  When you say "evening" did you mean Friday?

No problem on unloading rear end from your truck. I'll pick it out with straps and my fork lift.

People will start showing up on Friday afternoon so feel free to stop in at my shop and hang out if you'd like to. Fair warning, I may put early attendees to work... which may be anything from standing around drinking my beer, pushing a broom across the floor, or hanging up something cool on a wall Smile. around 6 or so, people will be gathering for dinner and drinks Friday night at my favorite watering hole... to many jeeps, parts, and accessories to list here, but apparently enough to keep me in trouble with my wife.

I was thinking a DJ had a rear mounted fuel tank. Sorry about that.

Walmart used to carry them in their office section too if I'm not mistaken.

Scratch, I'd be interested in a couple Willys stickers, if they haven't all been spoken for.
And if we're making wish lists-one of the last pieces I've been looking for is the little dash light dome cover for a 48 cj2. If anyone has a spare laying around, I'd be interested. Nothing too nice, she's no show car

Well, I started this door prize thing so I should be responsible for bringing the tickets.  All I ask is to be able to bring the remainder back with me (they technically belong to my club but they won't mind missing 40 or so).

but....my lift gate!  Do you have fork extensions?

I choked it tight with the engine hoist and stuck it right in.  I picked it up off the rack in the messy part of the shop by hand and carried it to a clear area where I could pick it up with the engine hoist.  It's not that heavy as rear ends go, but that was pretty stooooopid of me.

I was planning on bringing enough so everyone can have one. Joe said 30-40 so that's how many I made.  I think I have 10 each. I'll try to save one of the Willys one for you.

This is like discovering the Spanish Galleon "San Jose DeYoung".
What a treasure trove of WILLYS goodies.
You guys are so fortunate to be there with a wonderful host.
Wish I was there too!
Enjoy & keep us all posted & please be careful if he offers you all the "Joe DeJones Cool aide". LOL

You're killing me, Don.  I take some solice in that if I could have made it I likely would've had to cancel what with the weather we're getting here in the northeast anyway...

... but DAMN, I wish I was there, lol Tongue

A special thank you to Joe DeYoung for hosting another successful Jeeps In January and for starting our Willys Season for 2022.

For those that want some history on this event it all started when Steve a.k.a. Willys54Wagon posted:

"Gentlemen,

I propose a meeting in January, 2014.  Someplace with free beer, I think Kilroy fits the description but there may be others.   We need to crown our new leader officially.   Plan an event that we are not going to do.  Trade parts.   Tell lies.  Smoke cigars.  Talk about our willys bucket lists.  We need a report from Kilroy on passing on the willys passion to his neighbor kid.

Steve"

Bob a.k.a. Kilroy graciously took the bull by the horns and hosted the event in Iowa City, IA 2014, 2015 and 2016.

2017 - No Event
2018 Moved us to the current location of Mad City Manufacturing in Madison, WI when Joe DeYoung graciously revived the first Willys Event of the Year - https://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/jeeps-in-january_topic41425_page1.html?KW=Jeeps+in+january
