Mike,

Good advice. I had everything but the pistacios.

The 'fun' part was driving east on 82 out of Aspen.

I thought about stopping by to say hi, get a cup of coffee, and drop off a couple hundred pounds of cargo, but it was about 11:30 PM.

Don't know if this has been said but you all be careful out there!

It's all fun and games until it isn't.

Another busy day at Thirsty Dirt Ranch.  Today was move the vehicle day, putting our vehicles in places that won't interfere with our guests, or the flow of traffic.  And for a little relaxation, I grabbed a rake and pulled a few cacti.

Our first guest showed up today, all the way from upstate New York.  Now we've got the first Jeep in the Willys lineup.  I'm expecting a few more folks on Friday, but most of them will arrive Saturday, with a few more coming in on Sunday.

It looks like the middle of the week could bring us some wet weather.  I hope everyone brought at top, or at least a bikini top for their Jeep.  Otherwise we could be making a tarp-top for a Jeep or two.  The nice thing about these storms is that they don't last long.  The bad thing about these storms is that they are very cold.

Are we going to let a little rain stop us from having fun?  Heck NO!!  We'll go Jeeping anyway.  But based on where the thunderstorms are, we may take a detour, or wait for a storm to pass before continuing on our planned route.  And it could happen that by the time we get to Wednesday, the whole storm system just fades away.  But on the chance that it's going to happen, I recommend bringing some rain gear.

Got to the TDR this afternoon and Mike has everything in tip top shape. Stan and Jason met up with us at the Sugarshack so part of Texas connection has made it. Now we are waiting on Rick and Donnalee. Good to be back to our 2nd home! Feels good and the nights will be cold! Tomorrow will look a lot different at TDR. I imagine there will be a steady stream of campers coming in. I think someone from New York beat us as first guests. They will probably get the award for furthest miles. Way to go y’all!

Safe travels to you all and anxious to meet new folks.

We’re heading out Saturday morning.  Should roll into the TDR around supper time if everything goes smoothly.

The flood of Jeeps has started.  Thursday we had one Jeep arrive.  Friday we had six more arrive.  Today I expect many more will show up.  This place is going to get busy as soon as the sun gets up.  I really appreciate the help I've had from these first arrivals in getting the shop and the grounds ready for the rest of the guests and their Jeeps.  I feel like I'm ready to receive all 120+ folks who will join us this year for our Fall Color Tours.

As Bruce is famous for saying: "Boogity boogity, Let's go Jeeping!"

Took a few friends up to Browns Creek Falls. What a great hike at 6 miles round trip. As you can see one of the flying Walinda’s aka Arick is showing his balancing skills. Kyle and Lesli are taking in the waterfalls.

Mike, great seeing old friends and meeting new best friends also!

Tomorrow (Sunday) morning, what time do things start at the TDR?  (First timer/newbie instruction)?

Thanks!

Sunday morning things will start early the coffee pot will be ready by 5:30am. But I don't expect that most folks will need to get up before 7:00.  Our planned activities start at 1:00 pm in the shop.  We'll have our Mountain Driving Academy for all the new folks. Previous participants are welcome to join us also.  At about 2:30 we'll have a short tour into the forest west of the ranch to see how well each Jeep is performing. This will be followed by more socializing in and around the shop.

Our first driver's meeting will be at 8:30 am on Monday morning.
