Starting to pack up. Last minute as usual. I am leaving tomorrow morning, visiting friends on the way, will be at hotel late Wednesday. (actually, will be at hotel earlier that day to check-in, drop off trailer/Jeep, then do more visiting).
Does anyone know if the breakfast buffet will be open this year? I am wondering if I need to bring some things for breakfast in room.

Hi all! Can't believe this year's event is almost here!
Just wanted to remind anyone planning on wheeling with us at Southington Off-road Park on Thursday to be sure to sign the online waiver ahead of time. The link and all the details are on page 1 of this thread. I had a sign made up to place by the driveway to make it easier to find. I'll post a picture of it tomorrow so you know what to look for. Thank you to all those who have let me know you're planning to wheel. I currently have 17 jeeps on the list! Weather is predicted as partly cloudy and 72 degrees. Shaping up to be a great time! See you on Thursday! -Barry

I’m going to arrive at the hotel Wednesday evening. Not real late actually. Would have time to go to dinner.

I filled out the waiver.
I'm driving down from Clarkston, MI on Thursday AM. I will leave at 6 and it's a 4 hour drive, so I will probably get to Southington around 11 or 12, taking into account gas stops and getting lost a few times.

The jeep count for wheeling at Southington on Thursday is now 18!
For those who may be arriving later, I will leave a couple cell numbers, FRS Channel and frequency, and possibly a CB channel of our group at the holster shop where you will check in. That way you can find us in the park. Here's a picture of the sign to look for to find the driveway. See you on Thursday!! -Barry |

I thought I had a buyer for my "box" engine - block, crank, cam, head, exhaust manifolds, etc. and I've not heard so I'm going to bring it to the show. The block is unique. It started as an MB and was modified for a gear cam/crankshaft. I picked up this engine 11 years ago, knowing it was missing the connecting rods (they had been taken to school for show-and-tell and never returned). I've exchange the cardboard boxes for plastic totes and it is all packed up. I don't want to part it out and I'm willing to take a beating. I just need it gone. Here are some shots of what's included. You can't see some bolts in glass jars in cleaning solution and the carb is hiding in a coffee can. Some items appear new. I'm hoping someone will take this stuff off my hands. It is already loaded on the truck, even though Evan and I won't arrive until midday Friday. Shot me a PM with an offer and I promise to get back to you. Barry

Wilson was the first Jeep in parking lot today . . . DARN, wish I had taken a photo. It sure did look lonely.
I dropped it off around 11:00am, then went out to visit friends. (not dragging it and trailer around)
When I got back to hotel, I see BamBam hiding out under a tree. |

I asked when checking in.
There is no breakfast available at hotel. We will need to provide our own, or travel.

Barry, I've tried with multiple prompts to get some movement on the box motor, but, all I can say is I can lead him to the motor, can't make him buy it! He is a busy guy! It will find a home.

Barry,
Not exactly "unique" as I came across a GPW engine 30 years ago that someone had converted to a gear drive cam. It puzzled me when I removed the timing cover and discovered that.
Wish I was going to this event, but other things got in the way. I do plan on attending the Fall Reunion again this year, if nobody buys your box engine bring it out to Fulton in the Fall and I'll probably buy it. |

If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!

Southington Teaser- It was very fun and I learned a lot. Things like even though they say there is a car wash to clean your Jeep after wheeling, you don't show up at the Reunion with a clean Jeep after wheeling.

One of my photos that seem cool and a little different. This shows one of the walls of the sand quarry of the Southington ORV park.
I will add more later
