A nyone know of confirmed part numbers for front and rear shocks. I am wanting something that is similar to original. I looked up the PN in CJ2A BOM but when I tried to cross them on Monroe site I get several numbers. One is 32207. It is $23 on Amazon. $59 at oreillys.
But some sites state it’s not a 48 number. Also I think a 5752 is a good number (front) but again I get some sites stating it is not. Last one is 31000 (rear) ditto as 5752. Any ideas or other suggestions |

32207 works on my stock spring 46 CJ-2A front and rear. It should fit a stock spring height 1948 model. As I recall they were around $25 each from Rock Auto five years ago. They have held up to some mild off road use.

I've had to return shocks before. This is one of those items I don't like to get mail order style. I want to walk in and be able to replace them vs. return label and wait, if found bad.
Original shocks were simple hydraulic. Most modern shocks are gas charged (IMHO making them stiffer with a positive push to expand). I have used multiple crossover charts when comparing so there are references to help. I replaced my springs but that created a slight lift making the original shocks at maximum when sitting level (obviously not good). I used the manufacturers chart to compare max/min travel to pick out a slightly longer shock. A personal observation on websites listing correct vehicle models, i.e. "Fits Your Vehicle." Even the known jeep vendors get it wrong at times. Knowing the part numbers from original lists, knowing the dimensions of the different jeep models (and the known similarities), I've more than once ordered the correct part that was not listed or it stated, "Does Not Fit," for my jeep.
