I was finally able to do an assessment after the 10 mile, variable terrain and road run. There was about 2-1/2 hours of running.
Its early yet, but no leaks or drips from the re-sealed T90/Spicer 18. Both pinion seals leak enough to need attention soon. The passenger knuckle needs to be re-sealed. In other words, both knuckles need to be gone over. Otherwise a dry run. |

They opened the gates to a nearby trail and what a great excuse to shakedown the jeep. It was hot enough to see how the engine ran under load over time (5hrs).
We also tested the articulation limits of the suspension. Two tires spinning on air. The view from the other side: We had a great time. The jeep ran great. Engine temps stayed consistent around 180-190*. The STA super traxions were run tubeless at 20lbs and worked great. Edited by jhg - 16 June 2022 at 9:42pm |

Looks like a great time! It seems whenever I finally make my mind up on NDT's, I see these Super Traxions and don't know what to do...

Another day putting some hours on to work out the bugs. There is an intermittent chirp up front and the engine, though running great, needs some final tuning. We put about 6 hours on the jeep. Enginectemp runs 180-190. Oil pressure just under 40. (Rotella 15/40).

Exactly. We saw two other vehicles and two mountain bikers. That trail has changed a lot since the fire but it is still worth doing the hassle of access parking on the E end not with standing.
We explored all the side roads that were clear. |

If you are stuck somewhere in your own jeep project I encourage you to get back to it so you can enjoy it. It does not take much to have a great time in a 2a. I need to stop having fun with my jeep and give it a once cover: check fluids, adjust brakes, grease some fittings etc. In the big picture I want to replace the springs, adjust the valves, maybe address the deteriorating paint. I posted this somewhere else here but wanted to get it on my thread. https://youtu.be/WjBqyilL_eE
And screeching steel and flying dirt. Play this one loud! Edited by jhg - 25 May 2023 at 3:21pm |

Siping after about a year. Wear is relative of course, dependent on terrain, miles and pavement.
These have only run about 1/4 mile on asphalt. The rest is your typical rocky mountain gravel and rock. Mostly fire road kind of service. I do some rock climbing. Not a lot. |
