That was one of my fears. The other was, not getting them tight enough and something coming loose. Thanks.

If that happens, the recourse is to put a thread insert (heli-coil or equivalent) in the hole that stripped. If 35 ft/lbs doesn't seem like a lot of torque, remember that there are 6 bolts holding the spindle to the knuckle and that helps spread the load out. As we all know by now, Willys manuals are dismal with respect to torque specs. I've gone through all the manuals I have, and some online references, and come up with a list.
There's still some missing, and some that are questionable, so if you see any errors/omissions or find any new ones, let me know!
