finally found a lug wrench that is good quality, won't bend easily, and can be practically stored.
available new, craftsman CMMT98342. this thing is pretty slick. got a different one you like? |

Here’s mine
I also hot-rodded this Humvee jack with a lead screw that has a 13/16” hex on the end, replaceable brass nut, and a thrust bearing. Before doing these mods, the jack would not hold up to the impact driver. Tire changes are pretty quick. |

right on Jeff, that'l do it.
i am just obsessed with minimalism (though your method does comply as in minimal effort on user behalf) and getting the most and only truly needed tools in the under passenger seat tool box. and, i am the guy that would need 3 batteries to ensure one would work. regarding the hummer jack, i have a M151 jack that is similar and i made a mod to be able to use the lug wrench. mine is using a modified lug nut/stud cut to fit in the slot for a handle. but it is a workout! your choice of tool would kick butt for that.

Jeff, I think I heard that you modded you jack to break beads? Could you maybe show us that in another thread?

Place this on the bead and under the jack. Put the whole assembly under the Jeep to push off the frame: Then hit it: Usually the jack can do it without that plate but sometimes they are a little stubborn. Edited by jpet - 06 July 2022 at 6:55pm |
