Here it is boys, the best tool for the job (okay, you might be able to make one that works as well, if you are talented and have lots of time).
No personal interest, other than I have one like it, so I know how well it works for adjusting the brake cams.
Note: lister is "selling shipping", $7.50 for parcel post when it should go for a couple bucks first class. Might be an oversight, worth asking.

That's not the super desirable one though. The one to look for is the offset wrench that fits the locknuts on the cam bolts.

I want to thank everybody here for all the information you've posted ... it makes it so much easier to fix/maintain/improve my '46 CJ2A!
Today I finally got around to adjusting my CJ2A's "non-self-adjusting" brakes. After grinding down a 3/4" deep offset closed end wrench to make it thin enough to reach the lower front anchor locknuts, I went looking in my shop for a wrench that would fit the stems of the lower (anchor) and upper (eccentric) cams ... ... ... "loe and behold" ... ... ... I found the perfect thing ... ... ... a wire wheel spoke nipple adjusting wrench that I bought many (many many) years ago when I was into British sports cars (2 MGAs, an MGB-GT, Jaguar XK120, Jaguar XK150, Morgan +4 roadster). It is double-ended, one end being 1/4", the other being 3/16", and made extra thick to avoid damaging the wire wheel spoke nipples. Luckily it was etched with "British Victoria Made in Taiwan". It works like a charm. The 1/4" end fits the lower anchor cam stems, the 3/16" fits the upper eccentic cam stems. And it is just the right length. Go to: http://www.victoriabritish.com/icatalog/csc/full.aspx?Page=10 This is their part number 9-061. The current price is $10.95 dumdum |

Now that we all own an invisible 1956 MG, my next project will be to fit my 31x10.5R15 tires on wire spoke wheels and mount them on my CJ2A ! Then make it a low-rider! |
