In looking for the source of an occasional rattle under my dash I found this brace attached only to the inside of the firewall to the left of the steering column by the end with the perpendicular tab with the single hole. No evidence that a bolt had ever been in either hole on the other end. It was just sort of in there among the rats nest of wiring. Is this a legitimate part of a CJ2a? It did not appear to be doing anything, and from where it was bolted, it doesn't seem to line up with any logical connection for the other end.

Never seen anything like this on a 2A.
I’ve not seen one but I understand the early heater was installed to the left of the steering column. It could be a residual part from that. Someone with that heater may respond.
