It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.

Suhweet! Looks like 2nd gear starts and an overdrive 4-speed for the street. Also it appears the driving experience is much more responsive and nimble from a throttle and shifting standpoint.
Are you going to put a tach on it, other than the data pad, or is the pad permanent?

Seth, how does the rotary's off-the-line grunt and throttle tip-in compare with your turbodiesel Willys?

Wicked. If you get a chance, a drag race video between the wankel Willys and a stock L134 would be interesting.

This really makes me want to find another project Jeep that's too far gone for anyone to get mad about and find a way to swap something random in, like a Honda F20C or something.

Yeah its a very different driving experience. The tuning screen can be removed once you're satistfied with the tune... or it can be used as a dash. I will probably try to find some sort of vintage looking conventional tach once Im all done tuning it.

I was surprised but seat of the pants dyno says the rotary pulls harder even down low. I believe in a race the rotary would come out on top. taking off from a start requires more throttle input on the rotary but once the clutch is out and your moving the rotary pulls nice and smooth.

That would be fun and I will see if i can make it happen even though I know what the outcome will be haha! The rotary is just waking up when the go-devil is done.... Its pretty scary how hard it pulls at 60mph in 5th gear.

quick question, have you looked at your idle control valve?
every time you start it up, the idle seems to be way too high even for a rotary, I know it comes down, but I think you might have an air bubble trapped in there. from memory it shouldn't need to idle over about 8-9 hundred RPM even when cold.

Cut me some slack. Lol…. I’ve literally had this thing running for about 2 days I think it’s running pretty darn good. from what I’ve seen High idle on startup is normal for rotarys with fitech or Holley snipers. These systems are not designed for rotaries. The Ecu is self learning and seems to be starting and running better each time I drive it And there are limitations to how far you can tune them. There are lots of adjustments that can be made and I’ve only just begun to fiddle with it and learn all the different operations. I don’t believe air bubbles can get trapped inside this efi system.
