I was not able to do a leak down test. I only did “warm, all plugs out, WOT (dry) & with oil in cylinders.

So you are in the Portland Oregon area, not Seattle Washington? You might want to update your profile with that information. So you are waiting for what to drive up Mt Hood? C'mon it is a good excuse to drive the Willys. HWY 26 is usually plowed well, & if not, you have 4WD!

I live in Edmonds (a small town just north of Seattle) but we have a cabin in Long Beach with a pole building and that is where the Jeep lives (I have a Ford Model A Roadster Pickup to play with at “home”). That is what explains the mis matched location you are referring to.

That makes sense. Mt St Helen's would also work. I do not think the roads go as high as Mt Hood, but it will give you an idea as to how well the Willys will run at altitude. |

St. HELENS upper visitor center is only 4314ft. Sunrise point on Ranier is 6400ft. Timberline lodge on Mt hood is 6000ft.

OK, but just drive it up there. If the rig has any major issues, they will show up at 4,300 ft. Of course Mt Hood, or Rainier would be the acid test in the PNW. Yet, St Helen's could be a first step. One would not have to use any interstate highways to get there from Long Beach, which might be a big plus.

4300 ft. My home is higher than that. But youve got to work with what you have. Thirsty Dirt Ranch is right at 8,000, and we go up from there. So if you have any issues at all at 4300 or 6000, don’t say, “Aw, it ain’t too bad” because it’s only going to get worse. Make it flawless at those elevations.

It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.

A fair drive from Long Beach the highest road in the Pacific Northwest would be the Steens Mountain Loop Road at 9700ft. Not to mention its a beautiful drive. Only 70 miles South of Burns OR. Which is 138 miles East of Bend. Which is about 140 miles East of Salem which is only 150 or so miles South of Long Beach. If he can make the Steens Loop Road run I bet anything Bruce can throw at you will be easy lol.
