I won't have any "smart" devices in my house. I want my washer, my fridge, my furnace, and everything to be dumber than a box of rocks, thank you very much!
I refuse the electronic leash known as a cell phone, and I refuse to have a TV too. Sadly, I use the interwebtubes far too much for my own good. Maybe I'll quit that cold turkey some day.

Um, don't trust that TV on/off switch! With these new "so-called" smart TV's they are still connected to the web even when turned off! I've gotten into the habit of unplugging mine when I'm not using it! I use my hotspot for the TV and noticed a whole lotta usage (mb's)(not the jeep) being used when the TV was off and I was unable to connect another device until I unplugged the TV!

Cell phones have an off switch as well. I got along just fine for a lot of years without people being able to contact me 24/7 no matter what I am doing and the internet in my pocket. I still go to the computer for just about everything except using forums.

I don't do "Tik-tok" either so I don't know what kind of garbage they sell. And have no intention of finding out. Last time I checked, both TV's and computers have something called an "on-off" switch. TV's even have something called a "change the channel" switch. Gotta be smart enough to use them. This being the U.S.A., there's no law against stupid. Yet. Evil is getting pretty bold in this country lately. It's not hard to figure out who's responsible for it.

So that photo is a problem but Tik Tok reels showing young women flashing nipples and doing all manor of near porn stuff is FINE? My grandfather used to say TV was the devils work. I think he might have been a little bit of a fortune teller LOL. He passed before the personal computer took over the world. But I can guess what he would have thought of it.

I've got 10 friends, but we're all smart enough not to use fakebook. I just saw a talking head on the news claim that teenagers don't have the mental acuity to responsibly make decisions about using social media or not (they can't leave it alone). I suspect this is also true for a large population of adults.

Facebook is something I never use. I had an account about 5 years ago, after some time of inactivity they told me I had to prove my identity by getting 10 friends to write letters confirming I am who I say I am. Maybe I don't have 10 friends  . Certainly would not ask them to take the time to do that. I fixed them, I now self identify as ME.

Update... sent the trimmed pic that was "getting through" to my daughter during a discussion of why I was restricted and they caught it
Banned 24hrs, restricted two months  (18 hours went by before I even noticed, lol)While I would like to think there is a myriad of pimple face snowflakes living in their parents basements scouring the webs looking, I know it's just a bot searching images.
