Does anyone happen to know the size bolts the gear shift tunnel pan would take? 1948 Willy’s, CJ2A Jeep. They seem to be metric ?? Eight bolts.
Thanks A bunch!🥺

Hey Nofender,
You were correct! After your comment , I inspected further and did some configuring, bought a thread Chase die , chased all the holes and determined they were 1/4-20! Thanks! Edited by Retired1! - 31 Mar. 2023 at 8:32am |

You know… metric measurement, 100 centimeters = 1 meter. Just like metric time, 100 minutes = 1 hour. |

Metric Time ???
If you find anything on one of these old Jeeps that is metric it must be an Omix-Ada import part.

I forgot about that, but you are only partially right.
Spark plugs are indeed metric thread because of their origin. On the Willys L134 they are 14mm, not 17. There may be others, but most spark plugs are either 14mm or 18mm, never knew of one being 17mm.

12, 14 and 18mm are all that I have encountered. I think I bought the wrench for 12mm to work on a Rotax engine.
