    Posted: 27 Nov. 2005 at 2:53am

Hi All,

I just bought a 47 cj2a, and I want to check the frame # before going to DMV. The current title has the engine # for a VIN.

I have found the plate on the frame, but it's got 48 years worth of paint on it and I can't make out the numbers. I want to pull some paint off, but I'm concerned with damaging or destroying the numbers.

Any recommendations? can I just use some thinner and try to pull the paint?
