Greetings All,
First of all I must say this site is wonderful and has RE-energized me about these wonderful vehicles and motivated me to "get with it", as far as my Jeep goes.  I'm a new poster but I've been a member for a while and will post under 89cat (although I’m also registered as rmahan because I tend to forget and did it again).  Nothing significant about 89cat but it references late '80's school days.  My name is Robin Mahan but most call me Rob.

I'm posting my Jeep because I have learned a lot about seeing others and maybe there is something that can be gained from mine.  I bought this 22 years ago but I have been in love with them since about 11 years old. The look today is about like it was 22 years ago.  I did replace all seals (In hopes of preventing leaks, Ha!),  re-wired entirely 14 year ago (because something shorted, stuck open and let the magic smoke out), reworked all steering (doesn't have "bump" steer anymore), reworked brakes with little result.  Played with it hard from 22 years ago to 14 years ago and its been garaged and driven on occasion in last 14 years (Kids).

I’ll have a lot of pics but I will give the general ones here now and more specifics if questions arise.

Keep it up you all, I enjoy it.
Kind Regards,

Robin M

Nice looking Jeep, Robin!

That grill or brush guard looks similar to the one on my '47.  I think it means the Jeeps get used as Jeeps.  Big%20smile

I see you're from Kansas.  Back in the dark ages, I spent a little time playing at the home of the Big Red One between Manhattan and Junc City.   I don't miss those times, actually!  Before I got there, I thought Kansas was flat.  Ho, ho!

Real nice looking Jeep, sure would like to have the pto and winch on mine LOL. I developed a love for the old flatfenders at an early age too.

Sam,

Thanks for the comments.  The brush guard is a nice feature.  If someone built it they did a nice job, do you know if it was an aftermarket product?  I'm posting some more pics with questions because I'd like find out more from the knowlede base here.  I had problems getting pis and narration to sync.  Need to research that some more.

You probably wouldn't recognize the palce around here now.  The Big Red 1 has just reurned to the Fort with about 15,000 additional troops.  The post and surrounding area has exploded.

I have not seen enough brush guards similar to ours to believe that they were anything other than custom built add-ons, but, beyond that opinion, I have no idea.   (That comment should smoke out any alternative opinions!  LOL )

As it turns out, most places I've been back to where I had last been in 1965 are barely recognizable.    They'd say the same about me, too. Big%20smile
