The yellow 46 was pretty much worn out serving as a farm jeep for my Dad who
repaired things by either removing them, or wrapping them with baling
twine and electrical tape. When I got it, it had a pile of rotten foam
and gunny sacks for seats, a pretty much trashed front end from trying
to turn over a frozen engine & the resulting trauma of the bumper
turned into a vee and the frame pulled together, & no
windshield. When it froze up again on me & I couldn't figure out
why, I went the less expensive route of buying the blue MB. Winter was
coming on & I needed to get the firewood before the rains. However,
one season of the higher low geared MB & I was able to convince my
wife that we needed another 2a, in as good a condition as we could
find. The brown 48 was found and we towed it from NE Washington. She doesn't
seem to mind that I'm replacing the sagging springs, cherry bomb
exhaust system, and steering linkages. It has practically no rust or
dents and mostly original except for a 12v system. The floor pan &
the tool box floor had some surface rust which I fixed. I'll convince
her that we should keep the 46 for parts & the MB as a spare while
fixing up the 48 with a much needed winch etc.

Very nice
Is that a 4010 Deere? We have the same splitter too. I opted for the 3-point mount using the tractor hydraulics. My wife likes to split wood now also ( work the lever that is).
My hands are full with keeping two running you must stay very busy.
Welcome to the site and will look forward to your posts.

Thanks! The JD is a 1010 & The IH is a 1210. The IH also has a twin cylinder. dump bed.
The splitter is a 34 ton. I figured it was best to get the biggest available locally as I would sooner or later overload a smaller one. It will slice through anything I can roll under it w/o changing the engine sound. victor |

Nice jeeps and I like the 1210 as well, not much on green tractors unless it's an Oliver! But hey can't really knock ya on that LOL. Welcome to the forum, look forward to more from you.

Cool jeeps! Is the yellow one destined to spare parts? Sure?...And yes, I love the blue MB! Cool vet´!
Ouch, I must admit too that due to your influence, I´m lately drawing all tractors, as John Deere Model D 1942. Non comments!
