Not sure what gap you're referring to.

What did you use to fill the tub gap with?
Thanks,

Wondered for a while which thread I should put this into, "New Shop" or here. Decided it was dealing with the Bantam, so here it is, as some of you may know, I plan to store the Bantam on the second floor of the shop, I'm finally at that point so I finished the frame that I can attach the hoist. I've hung it off the cherry picker (that's how I figured the balance point) and it seems to work well, I'll find out later today (or tomorrow) if it works as planned. If you don't hear from me again, that means the trailer fell on me, or the structure in the shop collapsedLOL (hopefully my calculations are correct, but the acid test is when I actually do it.) If this works, I'll post some pics of the "lift".

All that was left of mine was about 4 foot of 2-wire inside the original loom - but nothing on the end.  As said - that is something none of us have seen.

Gale, how do your trailer lights connect to your jeep?  Did you use the modern style light hookups or original ones?

As you can see, I have a weak spot when it comes to coloring my vehicles. LOL (this picture sure shows just how small these things are!)

Original or not Gale, it still looks great.
When you think of old color options during that time period, its suprising black wasnt offered.
Willys offered black for a short time. I have a original 2a hood in black to replace the one on my 492A.
Probably realized it wasnt user freindly! My first new car (89 Ranger) was black. Never again for me!LOLWink

Out of the tent and into the light. I'm pleased with the result. (even if it's an "unoriginal color"Wink)

Al,
I spoke at length last fall with Bill, discussed many things, he was a great help. I did find a source for the chains, it's called lock link single loop, I found that it's present use is for commercial garage door openers, it loops around a sprocket. If you're looking for the source, it is here.   http://kscdirect.com/item/COO%2B0741034/COOPER%2BTOOLS_1%252F0%2BLock%2BLink%2BSingle%2BLoop%2BChain%252C%2BWrapped%252C%2BGalvanized%252C%2B100%2527%2527%2Bper%2BCarton%250A
Dave, I've seen a variety of tailgate chains, doesn't seem to be a pattern as to what was used when, probably what was the cheapest.LOL. The other features seem to fall into time frame patterns (spring hangers, drawbar supports, etc.)

I think the type of tailgate chain depends on the year, as it is with wheels, safety chains, etc.  Mine still had the original canvas coverings.

Hi Gale,
Nice job on the trailer.
YES, that chain is original by the way. My first one had that same chain, and the second one had larger stuff.
Send your pic to Bill Norris. We were talking about that once. If I remember correctly he found some at a local hardware store by him. Hes a stickler for details so surely the chain he used was authentic.
Regards.

Making a little progress every day (actually I'm trying to get it done so I can move it to storage in preparation for the upcoming construction). Got the springs and axles hung today, was going to get the wheels and fenders on as well, but the shoulder started protesting too much, I'll see how it feels tomorrow. (frustrating part is that it now takes me 4 hours to do a half hour jobAngry)
