Hello
I planning on trying a solex carburetor on my jeep and see it needs a fuel pressure regulator for a a pressure of 1.5 p.s.I. I'm looking a the a holley regulator that is for 1-4 p.s.I. for about 30 bucks but it has two outlets and one inlet, has anyone used them and plugged one of the outlet holes. (on summit racing site and ebay) Or is there another cheap fuel regulator out there I need to look at.

Typically you would have a line in a line out and a line you connect to a Fuel Pressure gauge. I have used the 1-4 PSI Holley regulator on 3-4 vehicles now and have one in Chugs fuel system as well They work excellent. Without a gauge how will you set the pressure?

I have a fuel and vacuum test set, and after I set up the carb I plan to cap the second
out port which the gauge will be using.

I'm running a Solex (for now while my Carter gets rebuilt). Installed this and have used it on other applications as well. Nice as it lets you directly set pressure (as accurate as it is) so you don't need a gauge:

I'm running this simple fuel regulator set at 2 PSI on my Solex. Mr. Gasket 9710 that I picked up at one of the local automotive stores.. No issues.

I looked at that one but it looked a little on the cheap side so I ordered the holley 1-4 and
after I get it set-up I will plug the port where my testing gauge will be. Sorry about the "cheap" thing but didn't want to chance it with fuel near that hot manifold, my cj has enough problems without a fire.

I've used that style in the past also and had no problems with it. It did what it was supposed to.

I ran a Solex on Ol' Unreliable for 15 years without a pressure regulator and it was fine until it suddenly wasn't fine about 4 years ago. The Jeep seemed peppier with the Solex, too. I think it has a larger-diameter throat than the Carter. Sadly, I still don't know why things just stopped working so well.

There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable
