That thing looks awesome.  Any idea of when it was made.  It also looks to have the Carb Heat Shield in place!

I you have a chance post a few picture of the heat shield sometime.

Stev - will take a closer picture of the carb, not certain of the year.  Did find a War Department Technical Manual for the PE-95/G unit dated July 1945 so it's WWII.
 
Joe, heavy for sure - guessing the gen set is twice the weight of the engine.  "They sure don't build'em like that anymore!"

Photos of the carb heat shield.  Appears to be aluminum, should be easy to make.
