When I bought my 47 cj2a the owner gave me this GPW transmission. It is not in working order, I assume it would be rebuild able but don't really know. Is this something someone may want?

Yes. Even if the internals are shot, as long as the case is not scored it may be worth rebuilding.
What are you asking?

I just don't have any use for it and wouldn't mind trading it or passing it along to someone if it's something they were looking for.

I just wasn't sure if it was potentially useable.

Yes, it’s “potentially useable”, but that’s about all that can be said for it at this time. I’m interested, but I’ll stand and wait behind Joe Friday. What would you take in cash or trade?

I'm looking for a bellhousing for a cj2a. I'd be interested in other old stuff for cj2a as well.

Sounds good. I think Joe was just answering my question? Bruce is interested. Tate I'll let you know if it's still available later this week.

Here are some pics of inside, a gear is off the shaft, but doesn't appear rusty. I will try and get it cleaned up and get some more of it if you want.

The area in red might have the assembly date stamped in it:

Bummer. They are usually, though not always, marked there.

So where are we at on this? Does Joe Friday want this? Did you find a bellhousing?

Still waiting to hear back on bellhousing. Another member close to me has one so I might be able to pick it up without shipping. Did you find an extra one?

FYI, some early Ford versions did not have the date stamp.  My script June of '42 is one of them.
