Jeeper50,
When I get a chance, I will take some close up photos of the winch. I did find an interesting note about the winch:

Close up pictures

Mine appears to have the same winch and bumper mounting assembly. Not sure how much I like it and it will be some work to remove it if I do.

Surprised how many orange lovers there are out there.

Orange is the new black. There are a lot of colors to pick from. I haven't seen an old Jeep yet that I didn't like, no matter what color it was.

I don't love the Broncos, but I do think that orange is pretty cool. It's part of your jeep's story.

Of course I would like whatever you do with it, as long as you don't cut it up for a crawler.

Bolding mine.

Stan, you are very wrong on this one! I dislike the donkeys as well.

I agree with the rest of your post though.

i like the orange. My M37 is Allis Chalmers Orange and folks think I'm the real local fire dept. when I'm cruising up in the woods. LOL Now that you are done, I'd drain and refill the transmission and transfercase with new GL1 90 weight. You would be amazed at how much water gets in there. Check your front and rear differentials too! Nice milky grease rusts your bearings. Ask me how I know this!!!!!!!Wink Oilly

Beretta,
I have to do some changes to the rims and tires. The rims are not original and the tires are Big O studded tires.

Oilleaker1,
I was planning on changing out the fluids. I think this has not been on the road since '94.

I got to swing by mom's house and try to fire her up after a couple days of drying out. Got her going and she idles very nicely. I felt confident to take her around the block for the first time and probably got her up to around 25. Speedo is broken apparently. So, now I feel good enough to get title, insurance and tags.

Here are some post pressure washing photos. Sorry, but this site insists on making my pictures up side down.

She doesn't look like she has been beaten up at all. I did not see anything bent up or gouges on the frame or suspension. Just a 70 years of patina under there.
I'm even wondering if the exhaust is original. It looks like original clamps but the rubber has rotted out. Someone added bailing wire. I looked for some today but could only find a kit that included the clamps. The tailpipe is missing.

I think the rear shocks might be original too. I see rock guards on them. I will have to take a closer look.

Looking forward to actually getting her on the road.

Micah, Just stop by any farm or ranch, they have lots of baling wire. Most of them will give you a gunny sack full in exchange for a ride in your Willys. Heck, they will probably just give it to you, but a ride is appreciated. Smile

Most of our regular vendors have the clamps and hangers. Here's Walcks.

X2    I used the complete set of reproduction clamps and hangers on Ol' Red and everything fit great. Looks original...

I saw the kit from Walcks and spoke with them. They wouldn't sell just the hangers. I don't need the clamps. I hate to spend money on something that I have no need for. I hope to find someone who will just sell me the hangers.
Not too many farms left in Reno. Going to have to buy some wire at Home Depot.

I did learn from my short drive that first is not synchronized. I thought they were. I'm going to have to get use to that.
