Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes. It was a nice day but nothing special.
I was born on Memorial Day and this was one of the few times since 1970 that I got to actually celebrate it on the holiday. Thanks to all of those who fought for our freedom and have gone on. Only two of many that spring to mind: Earl Nicks, Omaha Beach, John (Jack) Pocock, Pearl Harbor. BW

Happy birthday one day late Bruce. Good to hear you had a good day, and good to remember what Memorial day is about.
Two I knew who served in WW2 and one of them in Korea as well. Master Sargent Cecil Wayne Norman (my uncle "Tubby") fought in the Battle of the Bulge and the battles after that. He served with distinction in the Sixth Cavalry and was awarded several citations including silver and bronze stars for his actions under fire. He died in 1967. Captain William Swearingen (My uncle Bill) who served in the Army Air Corps in WW2, and also served in Korea. He died in 2016. My thanks to all who have served in the armed forces.

If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!
