Still hard to say.
The front face of the rear wheel house suggests the tub is 2A.

My concern is the lack of drain slot, windshield looks off, gas tank fill never there. The dash has many extra holes which may just be chopping over the years.

IMO, about $3K too high. There will be a significant amount of work involved getting the tub back to something approximately normal.

Run away don't walk.
Look up Craigslist, Search tempest, E Bay motors, ewillys.com, Google search, and see what's out there. This Jeep has not much left to it that is original or correct. You first need to see what a real one looks like and it's features. Then decode if you want perfect or original, or a nice driver, or rock crawler. How much you want to do to fix it yourself etc. 1941 to 1950"s had allot of changes and models.

Sounds like you have an idea of what a ‘46 CJ-2A looks like like and that ain’t close. When you say “restore” what are you saying? Take it back to factory new looking? Tons of work and money to return that to factory looking it’s somebody’s idea of a custom. Look at the headlights. Link below should have some pictures of what a “restored” CJ-2A should look like. What engine does that have ? Good luck with your search.

I would like to go back to as close as my skill and budget will get me. I just finished a TJ frame replacement rework. Learned a lot and love the old flat fender style.

It's a prototype built by Lincoln division of FoMoCo! Super rare! It has the extra-tall windshield that they put on there hoping John Wayne would buy one. Note the location of the gas tank. They moved it because of all the people who were worried about sitting on a bomb. This feature would be refined and used in the Pinto and other Ford products in the future. It has the "five-mile-per-hour-no-damage" bumpers, 'way before the gov't mandated them. One of a kind! Buy it now, at any price! (Don't anyone take this seriously, I hope you all know that I'm only kidding. Id hate to hear that the OP actually bought it because of what I said.) BW

It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.
