The rear brakes on my newly acquired restored CJ2 a were binding up when I tried to turn them with tires off ground. I could not get a .008 feeler gauge in between shoe and hub. I managed to completely change all settings on the eccentrics. Can someone give me some guidance on how to start over? Right now the shoes are too tight to turn the hub. I feel like there is not enough adjustment on eccentrics to get the the correct spacing. Appreciate the guidance. Thanks again.

Do yourself a favor and acquire a real FSM (service manual).

Forget the feeler gauge idea. The guy that came up with that was working with brand-new drums and shoes. If there’s any (ANY) wear in the drums or on the shoes it won’t work.

It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.
