I found a place in Salem that rented me a trailer for about 1/2 the weekly rate. They are my current hero's. I got the neighbor and his son to help me temp on the front fenders, hood and windshield frame. I'm collecting g up small pieces and loading up Chug going to have it all ready to drag up on the tilt bed trailer. Going to have to go light on the tongue as the truck feels like its on the rubber bumpers already. Only have to move it about 2 miles to a good friends farm and trucking co. His place is surrounded by over 100 feet of plowed ground and a 1/4 mile of harvested fields on the far side of a small river a long ways from any trees. I won't load it until the level 3 go now comes. As they seam to be doing that way in advance. Thursday 7pm still level 2.

Spent last night trying to pack every misc piece of the project into it. This morning I managed to drag it up on the trailer. Now to figure out how to tie it down. Ill run it to a safe place this morning. Then back home to worry more. 8:00am Day 3 at level 2

Glad to hear you have one less thing to worry about.    It would have been a shame if anything happened to Chug.   A lot of great work has gone into it.

Good luck!   Hopefully the fire recedes and nobody loses any more.

Virtually no wind. And the construction logging farmers have been doing a great job slowing the fire way down on its way to Silverton, hope we get some of that weekend rain to help. So much of the world my paving co calls ours is totally f'ed. Idahana, Detroit, Gates, Millcity, Lyons, Mehama are all in our backyard we have paved most of their streets over the years. Totally sucks.

Ok real good news through some very lucky weather and super human work Silverton has been down graded to level 1 so huge stress relief going on. Still horrible air etc. But tomorrow will start the huge work of moving stuff out of the vehicles and back into the house. They are predicting pretty good rain for mon tue. Gotta have Chug back in the shop before then don't trust a tarp to protect.

My son is coming down today to help put things back. But I figure between the AC unit in the living room going pop (from running 24hours a day) the trailer rental, lost wages, etc. It cost about 3 grand to sit at home and watch TV. A small price compared to so many people who lost everything. Our prayers go out to them.

Well for better or worse CHUG is safe back in his little shop. The Vehicles are unloaded the living room looks like burglers are staging it before their moving truck backs up to the porch. The Bang sticks are all back on their rack and safely put away. Still to hang the art work and a bunch of other stuff.

If that F'ing Fire finds a way to come this way screw it I'm standing on the roof with a garden hose till the city gravity tank runs out (2.2 million gallons) I'm not packing up this stuff again.

All the entertainment value is long gone. I am now wondering how much of my winter off I might loose while our company helps with clean up and rebuilding. We are the main road and site development co. in the area hardest hit. And with everything from 20+ dump trucks to HUGE CAT 375 excavators I am sure their will be plenty for us to do.

Luckily CHUG's advocate saw to it that he was well looked after and never left alone during the near panic. A Foster home had been prearranged in an uber safe location away from his adoring public and stalkers not to mention nasty fires path, if the need for an immediate relocation became nessasary.
