The day before we left for the Colorado Fall Colors Tour my wife went and bought this 1948 Luzon Red CJ2A. It needs a little help but runs like a sewing machine. I want to go through it, make some minor upgrades and enjoy it. Also found a little surprise when looking at the engine numbers....

Ok Rick, I gotta ask, when you say Jewel, are you referring to his wife or the Jeep???

That must have been the one they were talking about at FCT.

Nice looking jeep, Kevin!  I’ve not seen the coil and resistor mounted on the driver side firewall before.  Also, I don’t recognize that type of radiator from the flatfender era.  I’m curious to see what other little nuances you might find.  Keep us posted!
