I bought a couple of IGW 4189 distributors from Les recently, thanks got them Les!. Anyone know what size are the fittings going into the vacuum chamber and the WO carb are? I’m am going to use regular brake line for the line. Using them on a 1948 cj2a.

If you use a hard line (regular brake line), it will make timing adjustments difficult.
If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!

Appreciate the feedback. Why? What size or line type should be used to assist in timing? I haven’t seen a replacement line with any vendors.

Why?

Ignition timing requires moving the distributor. A hard line will make distributor movement difficult.

For this reason most vacuum advance lines are rubber. Vacuum line is available at just about any reputable auto parts store.

That makes sense. So I guess I need a rubber line and a couple of fittings to make my own vacuum line?

Guess so. CJ2A didn't come with a vacuum advance distributor, so you have to make your own line.

i made a fitting from a 3/16" piece of brake line and a double flare end then I used vacuum line to go to the port on my carb. Works very nicely.
