    Posted: 30 Apr. 2011 at 12:42am
Hi

The windshield latch that holds the inner frame tight when closed, the one in the middle.

Is it attached with bolts completely through the frame, or just screws into the inner portion of the frame?

I am having the new glass installed next week and want to do this before hand.

Thanks
Mark

It's attached with bolts all the way through the inner frame. Someone who has their parts manual handy can probably give you the size.

Could be. I was basing it on the three windshields I have, all of which have slot headed machine screws with acorn nuts on the outside.

From the Willys Parts Manual (1949, 3rd ed):

SCREW, special hd., No. 10-32 x 3/8" }Windshield center lock to glass frame (After serial No. 15304){

Interestingly it does not specify type but lists no nut so it's either self-tapping or sheetmetal.

I stand corrected.

To me 10-32 means machine screws, you will need to drill and tap the inner frame and thread in the attach screws.

 Good to find out as I am looking for a used one for my jeep

Belleview ol skool winch soon.
