I worked this up at the request of and to help another forum member get his Harrison heater installed.  It has been suggested that I also place it here so as to make it easier to find in the future

Below is a sketch giving the dimensions of the locations From the inside of my tub a  Late 49 3a  This will get you close.

Or another way to go about this would be to use the heater as a template. By:
  1. Remove the back mounting plate off the heater
  2. Mount this in the tube using the 2 air filter support mounting bolts. These can be found by using the mounting locations on the mounting plate. There will be captured nuts on the tub that will correspond to the mounting points on the heater mounting plate
  3. Mark the location of the 3rd mounting bolt
  4. Using a sharpened dowel the same size as the inlet/outlet line laid in the inlet and outlet line supports mark their locations
  5. Remove the mounting plate and replace on the heater
  6. Drill mounting hole and inlet holes
  7. Install heater
Although I haven’t tried it this procedure should narrow down the locations.

Hope this helps

The top hole and the right hole are the two that are original air filter mounting locations. The left is a knockout in later tubs.
