Thanks. Easy enough to at least not use extended life type.

You are overthinking it, as long as it keeps things from freezing it is okay to use. They didn't even have store bought antifreeze in the early days of automobiles, and folks used alcohol and other things or drained the coolant when it turned cold enough to worry. That is why there is a petcock in a handy location on the block and another on the radiator.
If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!

im using NAPA safe for all cooling systems coolant at a 50/50 mixture with grocery store distilled water. I have Copper, Brass, Aluminum, Iron,  Silicone, & various gasket materials in my system. In 20 years I'll tell you how its doing.

Just use plain old green ethylene glycol coolant & you will be fine.  Either pre-mixed, or concentrated & mix 50/50 with distilled water.

Personally, I think this is pure BS.  Attacks gaskets?  As if head gaskets haven't changed in nearly 3/4's of a century?  Thermostat gasket?  I don't think that will in any way care if the antifreeze is green, purple or orange or any other color.  Same with the water pump seal.  Most of my 3B coolant system is now aluminum with only the heater cores being copper.  I've been using Dexcool in it for 15 years with nary a problem.

I think you will have more problems using old formulations in anything with aluminum components, be it radiator, heads, or anything else.

Running pure water is a contributor to the cracked block threads.  No ptoblems here with regular green prestone.
