I've posted these pics before but here is a picture of My Uncle Jim's '53 3B:

These pictures were taken in August 1970, the weekend before my uncle headed to Vietnam.

The little guy sitting on the left is me (4 years old), and the little guy to the right is my brother Tim, (age 6). The guy in the second pic driving is my Uncle Steve.

.... Uncle Jim bought this jeep from the Coachmen camper company. I've always thought that if I ever ran across an old white '53 CJ3B, I would paint it up the same way and name it "Uncle Jim".

Great pics! I see the bumper sticker says "Coachmen". They were a group that played around Nebraska and were really popular. Had them for our high school prom one year.

I have posted this before also.  . .

The start of Jeepin' in my family.   That is my Grandfather's '2A in background.   This photo probably would have been taken in mid-late '50's based on estimated age of my Dad's cousin in foreground.

My Grandfather used to drive that from NE Ohio to Western MD on trips to "the cabin".  . .   It's a "lefty"  haha

dad had white stripes on the hood and he built a grill guard with white trim, The windshield rest blocks were chrome with rubber inserts and I think he said they were off of a VW front bumper. the white wall tires add to the look

JeepFever,

That Jeep your Grandfather had the one with his cousin in the photo - is a Lefty!  The bow pockets are on the passenger side.  Perhaps you already noticed that.

Hello Everyone

My dad was member 'wadoyado'.  I am sorry to tell everyone but he passed away last Sunday.  He spoke of the CJ2A Forum a lot and that's why I felt that I needed to join and share the news.  He completely tore it apart and put it back together.  He finished it at the end of August.  I am proud to say that the Jeep will remain in the family!!!

Also sorry to read the news.  Condolences to your family, and glad to see that the Jeep will stay there.  And welcome to the page, 48-17Willys.
