    Posted: 02 Jan. 2022 at 12:50pm
After much thought and pondering I've decided to host Jeeps in January 2022. The one day event will take place on Saturday January 29, 2022 at my shop...

Mad City Manufacturing
2301 Advance Road
Madison, WI 53718

I will be at the shop by 6 am and people are welcome to come as early as they wish.

I apologize for the late post on this event. It's been a rather difficult decision whether to host a gathering or not during this most recent spike in Covid infections. I would ask those that do plan to attend the gathering to please be mindful of others and not attend if you are feeling I'll in anyway. I will not require participants to wear masks, but will have masks available to those that would like one.

For those not aware of this event, it's a low key one day free event that I put on at my machine shop where I store all my jeeps and parts. Basically we hang out for the day talking about jeeps and life. There are currently 22 vehicles, 4 trailers, and many pallet racks of parts and trinkets in the shop so there is plenty of stuff to poke around and have fun with. For those that don't mind the cold, I will have a small track in the woods behind the shop to take some of my jeeps on, and weather permitting a snow obstacle course to play with as well. This is an informal event so there are no door prizes, raffles, or presentations. It's just a great group of guy and maybe some gals hanging out for the day. I provide doughnuts, coffee for you early birds, and lunch (burgers, brats, chips, ect) and beverages (water, soda, and beer) free to all. You are welcome to bring something special if you so desire as well. John is bringing the bloody marys Thumbs Up.

There isn't any formal swap meet spaces available but feel free to bring some jeep related items that others may want to buy. I will be available to do some relatively simple machine work if any body needs a quick machining job done, but please keep in mind that I don't want to spend my entire day doing just that. So if you want something machined or fixed, please contact me in advance to discuss your needs and how we can best fit it into the day. Some examples of quick machining for the day would be reaming bushings to fit a shaft, removing broken fasteners, milling a surface flat, repairing buggered up threads, pressing bearings in/out... that kind of stuff.

For those of you wanting lodging close to my shop (2-10 min), there are several hotels close to my shop to choose from that are reasonably priced. Here is partial list of available hotels that I would recommend.

1) Sleep Inn  608-221-8100

2) Days Inn 608-620-0107

3) Country Inn and Suites  608-467-0962

4) Americinn 608-467-4791

5) Magnuson Grand  608-224-1500

6) Super 8  608-620-7479

7) Americas Best Value (It's super cheep, but I do not recommend anyone staying there... known for drugs, violence, prostitution)

I look forward to seeing you at the end of January,
Joe

I might be up for coming but would need to hitch a ride.  If anyone is coming through Hudson WIsconsin and has an open seat they'd like to share in exchange for some gas money, let me know.

So, how late into the evening do the festivities continue on the 29th?  (Realistically, not the "for the wife" version .....) So that I can think about what my travel plan is afterwards.

There isn't a set time that I kick people out of my shop so stay as long as you want. Last time event was held we closed the near by Chinese restaurant at 10 pm.

Thanks, Joe. Take the "tentative" out of my earlier answer - I'll be there.
