Hello I am new here, not new to flat fender jeeps. I have been on the 3b page for a number of years.
My very first Willys jeep was a CJ2A that i bought from a man who had done a semi- restore on it in the mid  1980's and then put it in storage for twelve yrs. In 1996 He decided to sell it and I bought it not knowing anything about them. The engine was stuck but freed up fairly easy. I had it for about a month and a friend wanted it so I sold it. I didn't know what I was doing and I was working long hours. Well the friend put it in his garage and it sat there as he collected other jeeps and other military vehicles. About a year ago in 2017 I found that he had died, and I contacted his widow and described the jeep to her, She said that she had the jeep in her garage but had planed to give it to her grand daughter if she wanted it. I called her back in June of 2018 and was told that she may sell it, so a week ago we made a deal on the price and I bought the 2A back after 22 years. This 2A has been in storage since 1985. I found an oil change sticker in the jeep dated 10/4/1980 with 10459 miles, the odometer today is showing 11014 miles. I did not notice these things when I owned it in 1996 partly because I knew nothing about Willys jeeps and the fact that I was just too busy. One thing I have found it is what is now call a leftie having the spare tire hanger on the left side and bow holders on the right. I am very glad to get this back after so many yrs. I will try to post pics when I figure how to post them. I look forward to learning many things on this forum. Thanks

Ya gotta love a jeep with a story.  Pretty shrewd having other folks store it til you were ready Wink

PWells,

Welcome to the 2A Page!

What are your plans for this Jeep?

As you get started on this Jeep - save the things your remove - you might want them later.  Stuff like the old cloth top bows are expensive to replace but seem of no value when you are cleaning junk out of an old Jeep to see what you have.

Welcome. Yes, save the parts so you can trip over them. I still have some parts I pulled off 50 years ago. Somebody asks me for something on occasion.

Welcome aboard!

Pictures are good. Very good!

Take lots of pictures as you disassemble anything on the Jeep. You will not regret the pictures that you take. You will regret the ones that you do not take. AMHIK.

Again welcome to the madness, Cpt Logger.
