A good friend of mine gave me a gift last week. It is a letterpress block of a "lefty"

So cool and a rare find!

That IS cool George. Take a closer look, being a press block what you're seeing is a mirror image of the stamp. Don't think it's a lefty, see the steering wheel placement.  Very cool non-the-less.

Rick's right.....get you an ink pad and start stamping. Brown paper and an ink pad or two and you could make some Jeepin' wrapping paper.

It's cool

Everything in letter press printing is reversed, so this isn't a "lefty", but it is a very cool old advertising "cut" used for Jeep advertising a newspaper at some point. Neat find...thanks for sharing.

Is that stamp made of copper with a wood block attached to it? I have one that is a cj2a with a business man standing by the jeep that is made of copper and wood.

Hey Jim,

It is metallic over the wood but I'm not sure of the material. I will clean it up tonight to see if I can tell.

Very nice!   I can't turn it into wrapping paper, but if you want me to make you some pads, envelopes, letterhead, note cards etc...let me know.  That will print fine on my windmill.
