With a piece of the floor I had the paint scanned by the local paint supplier that is also a Sherwood Williams / I will need to look back in my post for the numbers but it is very close to Pasture Green.

A Green about 3 shades lighter than John Deere Green with the Yellow wheels from the opposite side of the color wheel that gives a Andy Warhol feel to the 1940 Willys paint scheme. 2 coats of sandable primer, 2 coats of color, and several coats of clear coat. Paint job is 16 years old. Photo taken 4/12/2020. Do wish we had hit closer to the factory colors looking back.

That is exactly the shade of blue I am hoping to find. Is that the paint code on this forum or do you remember what it is? Thanks in advance.

This is my 1946 CJ-2A in Luzon Red. I believe the paint was a PPG match as close as we could get it... Love the color, thinking about painting the wheels black though to give some contrast.

Nothing to see here, white Rustoleum rattle can. I can match it in any city.
My last Jeep was medium blue. The MB. I didn't want to turn it into a military replica. |

With all the O.D. green jeeps I wanted to do something a hair different (darker). So I did this one in Gillespie Coatings Viet Nam (era) USMC green. Again, painted in the garage like everything I do using a my little 2 gallon/ 10hp compressor and a harbor freight purple HVLP gun.
I only mention what hardware I was using, because you’d be amazed how many people say it cannot be done. I’ve painted four vehicles without an issue, so don’t listen to the naysayers, you don’t need an expensive compressor to lay down paint. Edited by IRQVET - 18 Nov. 2021 at 6:04pm |
