Jeff, I know the feeling. This morning my buddy called and asked to go the breakfast. I went down to the garage and it was so warm out I thought "What the heck, why not?" So I started up Frances and drove her down to the restaurant. First trip of the Spring. Next thing I know there are people coming in asking who owns that nice old jeep outside! My coffee was getting cold just talking to them. Smile

if we didn't want stimulation, and exuberance, would we not own these little fun machines?  i have spent most of my young adult life owning big block old camaros, novas, and several rare corvettes, and nothing has made me feel like a part of "something", more than my little uncompleted 2A :)

but that may change soon....#12812 is sitting in the barn awaiting her turn....but i may (key word is may) just may have a 1-owner column shift to putt around cincy with.....

and yes Roc, you can drive it, and Tony too, as long as he drives it before the sun starts setting Wink

No need to buy that one, low - as soon as you do, it'll be an ordinary 2 owner! Wink

I'll get it back on track!

I took mine out this evening since the weather was great.  I drove down to Rosslyn and then over to and around the  Iwo Jima Marine Memorial.  Then I took it by the Pentagon and finally back home.  No pictures this time - I was by myself.  I don't suppose they'd think much of my driving it up the Capitol steps, though, so don't hold your breath for that one! LOL

I would love to be driving mine.  I traded a tractor for a YJ yet, I have never even sat down in the seat.  A day or two and it could be on the road.  But, there is no such thing as a day or two.  It does not happen.  If I start on the YJ, the CJ project is set back a month, optimistically.  But the title of this thread is:  Life Is Good.  And life is good, if fleeting, as many of us have reflected since the passing of a forum member we knew but never met.

Sheese, mine is nothing more than a pile of nuts and bolts now :(
I can't wait until the day I fire it up and take it for a ride around the block. That will be a great day!  I might need help getting the bugs out of my teeth from the ear to ear grin I will be sporting! Big smile

The General looks great JPET!

So does everyone name their Jeep on here? I don't have one for mine yet.

The only time I've named a vehicle that I've owned is when it doesn't work, then I have all kinds of names for it, none of which could be spoken on TVLOL

If I had more than one 2A I probably would have a name for each. Kind of like naming your kids, because better than using descriptions to identify each one.

We (the family) have a Grand Cherokee that all of us call "the Jeep"
My CJ-5 is just that..."CJ-5"
We call (pronounce) the 2A the way a lot of people do of jeeps with Willys stamped on the hood... "the Will-eze"

Gen'l Willys got his name because he has a star on each collar:

And "WILLYS" on his name tag:

Arizona got her name because that's where she came from.

My car's name is "Thunder".  It used to be "White Thunder" but that was before it was three different colors.LOL
CJ2A #29110 "General Willys"
MB #204827 "BAM BAM"
