For those of you with a stock L134 and larger tires (32's or bigger) how is the gearing? Both offroad and onroad?

Mine has 4.27's swapped in by a previous owner and its terrible. I will be going back to 5.38's shortly.

I'm running only 31/10.50 Doesn't do too bad, But I think If I go up too 33's or just even 32's I would go with a skinner tire like 9.50 width. That is my plan at least. That will make it nice for in the mud/snow.

Engine is a 1971 Ford 2.0L 4cyl. The transmission is a C3 built to C4 spec's.

I Love the little L heads, if you can go beat up on way more powerful rock rigs, more power to you!!!!

If you need more power, maybe switch to an F head.... LOL

Cool rig none the less, post some more pics as you progress. Maybe specs too

Nice lookin' rig.  I like the choice of power plant too.  Won't get you there fastest but will certainly get you there.

They are 32x9.50R15 Super Swamper TSL's.

48-2A, .080 134 L hurricane, t-90, 18, 41 rear, 25 front, both axles have 5.38 lockers.  3" black diamond lift 33" swampers.  It now has a full soft top.
New steel body, frame off resto-mod.

Very nice, that is exactly what I am talking about. How is the onroad gearing with the 33's and 5.38's? Do you wheel it much?
