Looking at this jeep tomorrow, what you all think?

Talked to the guy and I guess it has front end shimmy.   I'm thinking bell crank, or the king pin bearings.

To replace those king pin bearings doesn't the spindle and front axle have to be removed?

Thanks,

Chris

I actually just seen that one too...  I wouldn't mind something like that, but it seems like they're always hacked up.   Kinda want something nice and reliable that I can pull behind the RV, and wheel a little at Hollister Hills or Pismo...

That's exactly what I asked the guy.  I said are the floors rusty?  He said not at all..  I guess we'll see, but it's a 3 plus hr drive

I have looked at several CJ-2A's from Craigslist.  They give a new definition to the term "rust bucket."  If it was not for POR-15 and that Rhino liner crap to hold them together nothing would be left.  I know that a Jeep made in the 40's has defects.  But a lot of owners misrepresent the Jeeps.

Take a newly charged flashlight with you to inspect the Jeep.

The guy selling that red one needs to learn the true definition of "fully restored".  That one ain't.
There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable

Little farther away, but looks ready to go. Seems like a lot for the price.

A lot of extra steel there.  The V-6 should be a Dauntless, as Buick hadn't bought back the V-6 yet by 1970.  A little hacked up, but not too bad.  $6K still an awful lot...

ol reliable, yep, I don't undersand some people.  I don't expect something "fully restored", but damn, a paint job isn't restored.
