the section of the trail that they are calling tin cup pass sure looks alot like coming out if the creek on taylor pass and then that would drop them down to aspen to go to pearl pass.

Was there any indication of what year that trip was made? I missed it when I watched the vid. Somebody should have researched the weather schedule better. You need to do that to miss the snow at some of the passes. August is usually best for that.

I don't think they gave the dates, but the video was published Sep 27, 2017.

That mostly-white "modern" vehicle (Bronco?) with them carries a Colorado plate with a 3/18 expiration sticker, so I'm guessing it was made sometime after March of 2017. BW

Why not bring one of the trucks along as support on good roads, carrying extra fuel, water. food and whatever to meet up each nite. I would volunteer to do this. My jeep and trailer stays at TDR.

Best I can tell, this was the intended path from St Elmo to Crested Butte:
Clues: St Elmo Hancock Pass Cumberland Pass Tincup Pass (not possible) Pearl Pass (had to reroute) Crested Butte Grand Mesa Porcupine Rim Trail - Moab (Closed) This is assuming they meant Taylor Pass when they were saying Tincup Pass since taking Tincup Pass from Cumberland Pass would run them right back to St. Elmo Google maps does not recognize a connection from Taylor Pass to Pearl Pass but Bing shows a road NF-761. Google does not show this road .... wonder what that means .... .... anywho, I don't know how to close the gap between Crested Butte and Moab. I asked if a map existed on his YouTube channel. If there are any map guys who like to do this stuff, chime in

Jeff,
Seems like I remember Ward talking about this at one time. He may have more information.

Jeff,
NF 761 is probably a Forest Service (National Forest) road rather than a County Road or State/Federal Hiway. Google might see it as a private drive. BW Edit: On another note, I have found other roads that I know exist, not showing on Google Maps. BW

That actually look like it would be a very good trail. Here is the biker's map:
I tried to get Bing and Google to try and map out the jeep route but it's just too much of a pain to get the blue line to go where you want. both seem incomplete at different points. I'll give Ward a shout a little later. Now we have to close the gap between Grand Junction and Crested Butte. You know, after Rubicon, we
