Will an MB rear panel weld into a CJ2A tub fine? My 2A is missing a tailgate and will need the tail light panels probably replaced anyway so I was debating an MB rear panel instead of a tailgate. Or is that blasphemy lol

No blasphemy here. Its your jeep, do as you please. I can't answer your question, but it would probably be easier to just install a new tailgate. It does provide more versatility.
